Hours

As a studio operated by one person, hours can be irregular. However, Shane does keep hours as posted on Yelp.com and Google. Any time away should be indicated there as well. The best way to ensure you don't miss him is to make an appointment.

Map and Directions

The Artisan Resource Center is hidden behind the small furniture store on Cobb Parkway South. If coming from Wylie Road, it's hidden behind the Marietta Commercial Plaza.

Driving Directions

If arriving to your first class/workshop at Shane McDonald Studios, please note whether the meetings are in Studio K or Studio K2. If in Studio K, it's best to park near the Courtyard Entrance. There is accessible entry and parking at the Main Entrance of the building on the south side. The parallel parking along the curb of the alleyway can also be used. Please avoid parking at the Marietta Commercial Plaza if you're attending a class or workshop.

Courtyard Entrance (drive between new building and Furniture store)

Shane McDonald Studios has a back "courtyard" entrance between the new building and the furniture store just beyond Beads by Design.

Visitors and attendees of classes/workshops in studio K can park here.
The courtyard entrance door to K1 is usually locked when Shane is teaching or holding an open studio life drawing/figure painting session.

HEADING SOUTH ON I-75 from Northwest Suburbs

  1. From I-75 use exit 263 at South Marietta Parkway (Hwy 120 Loop South)
  2. Turn right at the end of the ramp toward Kennesaw State University's Marietta Campus and head towards the middle lane.
  3. Pass Franklin Road.
  4. Make a left on Wylie Road (about 1100 feet from I-75, which is less than 1/4 mile).

Studio K1 & K2

  1. Turn right into the 4th driveway on right where you'll see a small sign to the Artisan Resource Center. (This is between the Marietta Commercial Plaza and Artisan Custom Closets.)
  2. Drive along the alley behind the Marietta Commercial Plaza where you'll see the gray Artisan Resource Center building.
  3. Keep straight until you see the main entrance sign for the Artisan Resource Center on the building. (see images)
  4. Walk in, and the studios will be at the end of the hall by the bathrooms.

Studio K

  1. Turn right into the 2nd drive (unmarked, but Google calls it Church Rd SE).
  2. Make your first left and slowly drive through the parking area of Banberry Apartments.
  3. The courtyard entrance of the Artisan Resource Center and Studio K will be directly ahead. (see images)
  4. Park in the areas designated on this map.

HEADING NORTH ON I-75 from Atlanta

  1. Take exit 261 at Delk Road/GA-280 from I-75 N and head west
  2. Continue on GA-280 S past Franklin Road and take the exit ramp to U.S. 41 S
  3. Turn right onto U.S. 41 heading north and drive 1.1 miles
  4. Turn right into the driveway just a few businesses past the McDonalds and just before the furniture store

Studio K1 & K2

  1. Turn right immediately after the Shell Station.
  2. Drive along the alley behind the furniture store where you'll see the gray Artisan Resource Center building on the left.
  3. Keep straight until you see the main entrance sign for the Artisan Resource Center on the building. (see images)
  4. Walk in, and the studios will be at the end of the hall by the bathrooms.

Studio K

  1. Turn right immediately after the furniture store and before Banberry Apartments.
  2. The courtyard entrance of the Artisan Resource Center and Studio K will be on your right. (see images)
  3. Park in the areas designated on this map.
